About Ruth

"Delight thyself in the Lord, and He will give thee the desires of thine heart." ~KJV Bible- Psalms 37:4

My Story

It’s funny how the circle of events along my natural and spiritual  journey lead me to my ultimate passions...teaching and writing.  While life has tossed me some curve balls, it has pitched me many blessings also.  Unlike many, I get to live out my dream each day.  I highly enjoy working with kids and writing as time permits me to do so.  God truly is amazing.  Don’t take life, family, and people (or even animals) for granted because “you entertain angels unawares.” (Hebrews 13:2).

~I am grateful for my parents, Elijah Hampton, Sr. (Deceased-77) and Mae Covington-Hampton, who provided me and my siblings with a loving home and laid the foundation for us to learn about Christ.  As we became older, my parents founded Hampton Memorial Community Church where my Dad served as Senior Deacon and my mom as Pastor for 22 years.  She no longer pastors but continues to share God’s Word with whomever she meets and wherever she goes.

Grateful for my 13 siblings (alive and deceased) whom grace me with love and support.  They are in order from oldest to youngest:  Ray, Elijah Jr. (deceased-59 yrs.), Angela, Joe, Eric Sr.,  Jean, Rufus (deceased twin-3  mos), Priscilla, Renee, Mark, Tammy, Michael (deceased-18 yrs.), and Kimberly.

~Loving all my nieces and nephews (24), great nieces and nephews (21), and great-great nieces and nephews (5).

~Grateful for my deceased grandparents for having my parents who birthed me into this world:  Paternal grandparents:  Charlie Hampton and Zera Amerson-Hampton (she founded 3 churches-Johnson Grove Holiness Church, Neighbors Grove Holiness Church, and Jordan Temple Bible Church of God; Maternal grandparents:  Sam Covington and Annie Mae Robinson-Covington (she later became Pastor of Johnson Grove Holiness Church).

~I enjoy being a mother of two wonderful adult children…son, Josh, and daughter, Jasmyne

~I am ecstatic about being a grandmother of 4, (Alayziah, Ma’Kiyah, Lorenzo, and Lamarco),  who call me “Gigi” (at my request 🤣)!

"You never know in life where your journey will take you. You must remove all doubt and fear and believe in yourself. Chase your dream, no matter how difficult it may seem. I constantly push myself to do more to help others. Teaching and writing are my passions. I pray the words that flow from my heart and mind will empower and inspire you."
